(Bangkok Post file photo)The Election Commission (EC) is asking all provincial election commissions to prepare for new local elections, according to copies of the EC's order received by local election regulators. The EC's document is reported to be an indication that more elections at the local level are forthcoming. On April 16, a number of new laws on local elections were published in the Royal Gazette. The next local elections are expected for the president of the provincial administration organisation of each province, municipality mayors, the president of each tambon administration organisation, the Bangkok governor, and the Pattaya City mayor.
